Facilities
At Sutton-on-Sea Community Primary School, we are proud to be an inclusive school where every child is valued and supported.
We are committed to ensuring that pupils with disabilities can access all areas of school life – including the curriculum, the physical environment and school information – alongside their peers.
Our ethos ‘We believe everyone can achieve,’ underpins everything we do to remove barriers to learning and participation.

Our School Environment
Our school site has been designed and adapted to ensure accessibility for all pupils, staff and visitors.
Current facilities include:
- Step-free access to main entrances and classrooms.
- Wide doorways and corridors, suitable for wheelchair access.
- Accessible toilet located close to classrooms and communal areas.
- Height adjustable changing table available.
- Grab rails and support handles where appropriate.
- Clearly marked pathways and signage around the school site.
- Adjustable-height furniture available for pupils who need it.
- Designated quiet/sensory spaces to support regulation and emotional wellbeing.
Supported Access to Learning
We make reasonable adjustments to support pupils with disabilities in accessing the curriculum and wider school life.
These may include:
- Providing specialist equipment and technology.
- Adapting classroom layouts to ensure safe and comfortable movement.
- Using large print, coloured paper or visual aids for children with visual difficulties.
- Providing individual care or risk assessments when needed.
- Offering adapted physical education activities to include all pupils.
Planning for Accessibility
We regularly review the accessibility of our school environment through our Accessibility Plan (2025-2028), which focuses on three key areas:
- Improving access to the curriculum for pupils with SEND and disabilities.
- Improving the physical environment to increase access for all.
- Improving access to information for parents and pupils with disabilities.
The plan is reviewed annually by the SENDCO, Headteacher and Governing Body to ensure progress and compliance with the Equality Act 2010.
- Working with Families and Professionals
We work closely with parents, carers and external professionals to ensure that individual adjustments are made for each pupil’s needs.
If parents have concerns about accessibility, they are encouraged to contact the school on 01507 441319 or to email admin@sutton.lincs.sch.uk
