Listening to the Views of Pupils with SEND

We believe that every pupil’s voice matters.

Pupils with SEND are encouraged to express their views, share worries, and contribute to decisions that affect them through:

  • Regular pupil voice activities, including SEND pupil surveys and discussions.
  • 1:1 reviews or planning meetings where children help set their own targets and share their voice.
  • Circle Time and class discussions that promote listening and respect.
  • Involvement in Annual Reviews for those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Informal check-ins with trusted adults, the SENDCO, or learning mentors.

We take every opportunity to ensure that pupils feel heard, supported, and respected in school life.
